Lauren & Shawn are dear friends and you’ve seen them here on the blog before. I remember when Adelaide was born and Lauren provided a meal for us, but she also brought us a gift. She had hand-knit the cutest pink slippers and a matching winter hat that Laidy has LOVED thoroughly in the colder days of the year. As I oooh and aaaahhed over them, Lauren commented that she would probably never get to knit pink-themed items for one of her own children (she has 3 amazing boys) so she enjoyed getting to do so for someone else.
Oh, how the Lord has a sense of humor! Lauren & Shawn found out they were expecting and just assumed it would be a boy. Oh, imagine the shock and elated state when they found out Lauren could finally knit in pink for one of her own! Yes, this calls for the purchase of a floral/feminine maternity maxi to celebrate. 🙂
Due in October, Lauren is busily preparing a girl nursery room in their home, pink walls of course, and still trying to wrap her mind around girl things. I’m excited for this little one to get to know her brothers, * ahem * her Protectors!

Lauren + Shawn: You guys are so wonderful to spend time with! I can’t knit, but I will be happy to shower you with pink items as you so lovingly gave to me. Thank you so much for all the boys’ clothes for Lochlyn too! We’ll just keep trading. 😉 What a fun little spark you will have in your brood-I can’t wait to meet her!
