Layla’s senior session looked a little different this year—and that’s exactly what made it work so well!
The bulk of her senior portraits were taken during a family trip to Florida, where she was able to visit her grandfather and explore several colleges as she begins dreaming about what comes next. She’s hoping to study neuropsychology, with an interest in the chemistry and science behind how our brains work and why we think the way we do. So when she came home, a quick senior mini session was the perfect way to round out her gallery with a few more portraits close to home.
We met at the session location with Layla, who attends Valley High School, and Charlie, her 10-year-old pup and official senior-session sidekick. Charlie may have forgotten a good portion of her puppy training over the years, but she definitely remembers that sitting gets her a treat! She did a fantastic job for exactly what we needed her to do. 🐾

I love when a senior session can reflect what’s happening in a student’s life right now—whether that’s exploring future colleges, dreaming about a career, spending time with a beloved pet, or simply documenting this season before everything changes.

Layla, I hope these photos are a fun little piece of the beginning of whatever comes next! I’m excited to see where your curiosity about the brain and neuropsychology takes you. 🎓
