When Lisa emailed me that it was time to take Christian’s photos, I couldn’t believe what I was reading. “Didn’t I just photograph Zach?!” They could be twins, they look so alike and it appears that Christian will be blazing his own trail, but at the same college as Zach: Univ. of Iowa to study Business. As we made our way his second outfit of our shoot, I could totally picture him walking the halls of a Business School heading to class a year from now.
Our session was rained out, well, really, drowned out as the Des Moines metro area received 10 inches of rain in a matter of a few short hours the evening we had originally scheduled. When we met at our first location, the reservoir park was closed due to flooding, so we high tailed it to higher ground and made super harsh morning light work to our best advantage.
Next, we headed for some shaded neighborhoods that were still accessible despite floodwaters rising:
I’ve often used this little alley in Valley Junction, but this is the first time I’ve used it in morning light: a different challenge, but I still love our results!
Christian: Congratulations on your senior year! I know you’re going to knock it outta the park this year and beyond. Enjoy every moment, have fun and say hi to Zach for me when you get to Univ. of Iowa!
