First family session of the season!!
I’ve been photographing Shane and Ellie since they were born, and every year I leave their session wondering how they got so big so fast.
This year, Ellie is heading into 3rd grade and Shane is starting 1st grade (!!), and honestly, this might have been their easiest session yet. The tall grasses didn’t bother Ellie, Shane smiled when asked, and they both did such an amazing job.
One of my favorite parts of the evening was discovering several giant Western Salsify plants in the field. Think dandelions… but supersized! The seed heads were as big as my fist and made the perfect opportunity for making wishes.
Jess, Shane, and Ellie love exploring parks and spending time outdoors together, so it felt fitting that some of the magic from this session came from slowing down and noticing something beautiful growing right in front of us.
So proud of these two and how much they’ve grown!

Every year, I leave a session with this trio wondering how Shane and Ellie got so much bigger since the last time I saw them. Watching them grow from newborns into curious, adventurous kids has been one of the greatest privileges of my job.
Jess, thank you for trusting me to document these seasons year after year. I already know next year’s session will have me asking the same question all over again: “How did they grow up so fast?!” Until then, keep exploring, keep making wishes, and keep stopping to enjoy the beauty around you.
