There are some senior sessions that feel especially full-circle, and Jaxon’s was certainly one of them.
I’ve been photographing Jaxon and his family since he was two years old, and somehow, in the blink of an eye, he now towers over me and is preparing for his senior year of high school. Watching children grow up through the lens of my camera never gets old, and I feel incredibly grateful to celebrate these milestones with families year after year.
As Jaxon looks toward graduation and considers what the future may hold—including opportunities in Minnesota—one thing seems certain: his calm, level-headed personality will serve him well wherever life takes him. He has always had an easy-going demeanor and quiet confidence about him, and I have no doubt he’ll find success in whatever path he chooses.
When planning his senior session, it was easy to determine where he would feel most at home. We spent the evening exploring Jester Park and the Saylorville Lake area, surrounded by birds chirping, prairie grasses swaying in the breeze, and even a deer making an appearance in the distance. There wasn’t another person in sight, which made it the perfect backdrop for someone who simply enjoys being outdoors and soaking in the beauty around him.

Sessions like this remind me why I love senior photography so much. It’s about more than documenting the final year of high school. It’s about celebrating who a senior is right now—their interests, the places they love, the pets that greet them at the door, and the season of life they’re preparing to step into.

Jaxon, thank you for allowing me to celebrate this milestone with you and your family. It has been a privilege to watch you grow from a curious two-year-old into a thoughtful young man ready for his next adventure. I can’t wait to see where life takes you next.
