One of my favorite emails to receive is from someone who says they found me on Google. Not only does it remind me that all the blogging, reviews, and website updates are worth it, but it also introduces me to wonderful new families. That’s exactly how I met Gabby!
Before reaching out, she spent time reading through my Google reviews (friends, reviews really do matter!), and I’m so thankful she did because this multigenerational family photo session at Easter Lake North Shore was such a joy.
After a very rainy start to June, we decided to reschedule their session, and wow, am I glad we waited! The evening we landed on could not have been more perfect. The weather was comfortable, the light was absolutely dreamy, and Easter Lake on the east side of the Des Moines metro gave us a beautiful backdrop for documenting this sweet season of life.

Gabby and Scott are celebrating 20 years of marriage this year, and one of the greatest joys of that milestone is watching their family continue to grow. Gabby may not go by “Grandma,” but she definitely embraces her role as the fun step-grandma! The adult kids all arrived right on time, ready to go, while the four grandchildren showed up ready to PLAY.
Harrison, the handsome 3-year-old, Sloan (also 3), Lennon (5), and Eden, the oldest at age 7, brought all the energy and personality to our evening together. There is another grandbaby on the way, making this family even sweeter in the months ahead!

I loved watching cousins interact, parents wrangle little ones with ease, and everyone simply enjoy being together. One of my favorite details? The kids knew there was a reward waiting for them at the end. After all their smiles, hugs, and family photos, they were treated to pool accessories and the coolest towels to kick off summer in style!
Multigenerational family photos are some of my favorite sessions to photograph. There is something special about documenting grandparents, adult children, and grandchildren all together in one season of life. These images become even more meaningful as families grow, move, and welcome new additions.

Gabby and Scott, thank you for trusting me after finding me online and inviting me into your family’s story. I am so excited to watch your crew continue to grow in the years ahead, and I hope these images always remind you of a beautiful June evening spent together at Easter Lake.
Until next time, enjoy your summer adventures, celebrate that new baby on the way, and keep making memories together!
